Join the effort for advocacy and awareness

Living with limb loss or limb difference is challenging, but you are not alone! Join our community, find friends with shared experiences, and advocate for improvements in care and access for yourself and others. The Amputee Coalition uses this month to encourage individuals and their families to speak out and spread awareness of what it is like to live with limb loss or limb difference.

2.1 Million People Living with Limb Loss in the U.S.

This month, we encourage you to share your story, snap a picture, post to your social media (or ours!), contact your local, state, or national government representatives, or participate in any way that lets your community see what your lifestyle or experience is like. Social distancing has necessarily caused numerous activities to be cancelled, but you can find and share with many others through social media. Tell us about something you struggle with, something you've achieved, or something that makes you laugh. There are lots of ways to raise awareness without leaving home!

Take A Dare!

Join us by taking on the Be-Strong-Daily-Dares. The Amputee Coalition is promoting community engagement by offering prizes for completing dares like Wear Orange Wednesdays and like/follow/posting on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter with the hashtags #LLAM and #LimbLossAwareness. They also have ribbons, swag, and informational handouts you can use or spread around to doctor's offices, community centers, and local officials to bring them in to our world and gain their support and understanding.
